African Families Development Network is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis. The purpose of this organization is to provide economic, educational, cultural, and other charitable work to African immigrant families in Minnesota. All funds and other resources of this organization are devoted to this purpose. This organization solicits grants, donations, and other gifts from individuals and organizations.

AFDN was established in 2008 by a number of concerned parents and educators from the African community in the state of Minnesota to respond to the special needs of African families. This organization assists these families by providing information resources, training, and advice. AFDN also works to create a strong network among African families in the State. In addition, this organization creates opportunities for African professionals in the State in order to assist parents to raise and educate children and youth. These professionals contribute their time, experiences, and talents to assist parents and youth in the community.
